Red Dragon

I am 63 years of age and took up computing about 10 years ago when I had to retire on health grounds (RA). Up until that time I had had nothing to do with computers. I used to be employed by the Government in the field of Radio Communications.

I am married, my wife's name is Margaret and we live in Bridgend in South Wales. We have 3 children and seven grandchildren scattered about England, I had to move quite a bit with my job.

My favourite occupation on the computer is programming. I have had no formal training, I have taught myself from books. My main and favourite programming language is Visual Basic. I have also done a little bit with SQL, Crystal Reports, VBScript, JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, ActiveX and Perl CGI. I don't profess to be an expert in any of the languages. I tend to learn what I need for the project in hand, mainly for my own amusement but I have written a few commercial programs.

When I'm not on the computer I like to watch sport on the box and I read quite a lot, usually technical stuff. Also I read the odd book so long as it is factual.
