I have recently been faced with the following problem:
I am using a certain Perl script to search for names in a flat-file database.
But it has been brought to my attention that, due to a 1-2 sec. delay after the SUBMIT button is pressed,
the user could conceivably click the button several more times. This would spawn unneccesary threads and, perhaps,
eat up server memory.

Is there any way, using Javascript, to disable the SUBMIT button (and block the form's submission) once it has been pressed the first time?
