I received the following question on the CSS FAQ:

I have a mouseover effect on my site that triggers a small transparent animated gif on another layer on mouseovers, .. and I've been noting that sometimes, .. the animation chokes (stops animating and mocomes almost completely invisible) and I totally lose the effect. I was wondering if you might know of any way that I could somehow "re-fresh" the layer at regular intervals so that I don't lose this effect. Reloading the frame seems to work, .. but I're really rather just re-fresh the layer if it's possible. Is it? If so, how?
