I admit that I haven't used Cold Fusion much myself, though I've read about it. But for database driven applications, or web-content supplied from a database, I recommend using Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP), which was designed specifically for that purpose. ASP uses embedded server scripting of either VBScript or JScript (same as javascript). Works with any ODBC data source, especially SQL or Access. Microsoft Visual InterDev (a part of Visual Studio) provides an great tool for ASP driven applications. See http://www.microsoft.com/vinterdev for more info.
