Q5215 Which parts of XML is case-sensitive?

You are here: irt.org | FAQ | XML | Q5215 [ previous next ]

All of an XML file is case-sensitive, both markup and text.

This is significantly different from HTML and many other SGML document types. It was introduced to allow markup in non-Latin-alphabet scripts and to obviate problems with case-folding in scripts which are caseless.
